The Freshman/Alumni Summer Internship Program
This program, part of the MIT Career Development Center, helps companies form seamless relationships with MIT students beginning in their freshman year. It offers companies the advantage of identifying the best and the brightest students early on and bringing them into your organization. And, it is simple and inexpensive for you to participate. The two criteria needed are time and challenging work. The only cost of the program is the student's summer wages which are negotiated directly with you.
You are also welcome to increase your visibility at MIT by serving a facilitator during one of our seminars.
Visit their website for more details on how to participate, http://web.mit.edu/fasip/.
Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program
UPOP is a tremendous opportunity for government or business employers to engage an MIT engineering sophomore for 10-12 summer weeks without paying a participation fee.
Being a participating UPOP employer brings many other benefits including:
- access to top engineering talent in an organized, systematic way
- high visibility participating employers achieve with all sophomores in the School of Engineering at MIT
- engage students who are prepared to handle meaningful summer positions because they have been through an intensive one-week 'pre-employment boot camp' at MIT
